For those women who care for theirs my hats off to you. Was watching NBC morning show this moring and they showed a close up where you could see Meredith Vieira's hands. I about puked on the couch ';man-hands';. Any others feel this way?I find it repulsive to see a women with short ugly nails.?
Wow. Where do I begin? First of all you should know that the majority of people on this forum consists of teenagers and women who let alone have any desire for beautiful hands and nails would much rather be sitting in front of the tv eating cupcakes and watching Springer. Then you have people like ';Aliken'; who is probably half man that will throw out the crap about hygien. Give me a break. If you do any research at all the bacteria is due to people not washing their hands properly. I have seen a study done where they compared the bacteria levels of a women with nails over an inch compared to a women like ';Alike'; with stubby man hands. What did they find? The stubby man hands had more bacteria under the nails. The study was done over and over again with different lengths of nails until they realized the reason why the longer nails in most cases had less bacteria was because the women took better care of their hands and nails and washed them more thoroughly. So basically your argument is dead in the water and actually falls back on you. Anyway back to your question King K. I have always loved long nails on women in fact I married a women who cares for her long nails. Hands are the first thing I notice on a women (not boobs). When I was dating many women found this a major compliment and loved it that I liked their nails. So King K the people on this forum are not the majority so feel confident your not alone.I find it repulsive to see a women with short ugly nails.?
I work in healthcare where long, acrylic nails are absolutely forbidden. If you knew how much bacteria long nails carry, you wouldn't find short nails so ';repulsive';
I like the look of long french manicures but natural looking nails are hardly disgusting. They're practical and more sanitary. Long, fake nails are a haven for germs and bacteria. The glue line where fake nail meets real nail is packed, PACKED with nasty things. Not to mention chips in the nail polish, and under the nail where it's hard to clean totally during handwashing. And people who wash their hands generally don't do it right to begin with, so I doubt that those girls you find so sexy are walking around with 98% alcohol and a nail brush in their purse so that they can scrub their nails to complete sanitation.
And let's just ignore the sanitation of long nails, there are plenty of women who CAN'T wear long fake, polished nails. Nurses are just one of these. When I took my job at the hospital I was told absolutely no nail polish or acrylic. Let alone women who, like an above poster said, lift weights. Or groom dogs. Or work in daycare. Or hell, stay at home moms. Do you know how easy (and painful) it is to break a nail? Some women work in a profession or lifestyle where long nails are just not practical. They break too easy, or don't have the money to spend (a french manicure can run anywhere from 20-45 dollars for the first set and then 15-20 dollars every two weeks to refill). OH and IF they break, that's another 15 dollars, just to repair the nail, let alone the money they'd be spending on general upkeep.
So think of this next time you're sucking on a girls ';sexy'; fake nail: When she has a bowel movement and wipes herself, chances are she didn't ';scrub'; her nails as directed and all that bacteria is just chilling there in the glue, the paint, the nail bed, oh, and your mouth.
I'm not knocking girls with long nails, I used to wear them myself and yes, they do look a lot sexier. But if you're going to call people repulsive, at least know both sides of the story.
Edit: Yeah, because my field forbids long nails, surely, I must be half man. That's a great argument, there. Which is even better cause I used to wear the nails myself until I took a job in nursing and realized that they just didn't work for me. Second, I'm sorry you have to resort to name calling to get your point across but no where in my answer did I point down on any one person or call anyone a name. There's really no need to turn a simple debate into high school name calling.
I agree. Especially when you see these women on jewelry shows modeling rings etc and have nasty looking hands. I have to turn the channel before I vomit all over myself. Long nails when cared for look very sexy and feminine. It completely changes the appearance of a women's hands and all for the better.
Its important to keep your nails looking neat and presentable and to have moisturized hands. But I have short plain nails and there's nothing wrong with that. Nails hold germs especially acrylic ones. I also wash my hands a lot and I lift weights so there's not point for me to have nails.
You are nuts, I am sure you have plenty of flaws yourself. You go and try to do normal stuff with long nails, which you always must keep sparkling clean. You must be some 12 yo without any knowledge of life if you think women are Playboy perfect dolls.
I only find it repulsive when it's disgustingly short. I have a friend who cannot stop biting her nails and it's so disgusting. She literally bites them until it's not possible for her to bite off more.
wow, well erm no but everyone to themselves aye?
